Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 5, 2026

Quick Password is a Chrome extension that generates strong random passwords and fills them into password fields on web pages. This policy explains what the extension does and does not do with your data.

Summary

  • Quick Password does not collect, sell or share any personal data.
  • Generated passwords are never stored or sent anywhere.
  • There are no analytics, ads, trackers or remote servers.

Passwords

Passwords are generated on your device with the browser's cryptographically secure random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues). A generated password only exists in the extension's panel until you fill it into a field or copy it. Quick Password does not save, log or transmit it.

Preferences

To remember your settings, the extension saves the following with Chrome's storage API (chrome.storage.sync):

  • The character types and length you picked for new passwords
  • Whether to avoid look-alike characters and whether to copy automatically when filling
  • The interface language
  • The list of websites (domain names only) where you turned suggestions off

If Chrome sync is on, Google syncs this data between your Chrome browsers under your Google Account, according to Google's own privacy policy. Quick Password itself has no access to it outside your browser. You can remove it at any time by uninstalling the extension.

Web pages

To show the key icon inside password fields, the extension runs on the pages you visit. It only looks for password fields and, when you choose to, writes the generated password into the field you picked and its confirmation field. It does not read, collect or send the content of web pages, what you type, or your browsing history.

Clipboard

When you click the copy button, or turn on automatic copying, the generated password is written to your clipboard. The extension never reads your clipboard.

Children

Quick Password does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with an updated date. If the extension ever starts handling data in a different way, this policy will be updated before that change is released.
